What Signs & Symptoms of Heart Problems Should I Be Concerned About?

Symptoms of heart problems often don't exist. Which is why heart disease and high blood pressure is known as "the silent killer".

Without warning warning signs or symptoms of heart problems often the first sign is a heart attack.

However doctors know of conditions, such as high blood pressure and cholestrerol levels, that are potential warning symptoms of heart problems. Seeing your doctor, at least annually to have your blood pressure and cholesterol levels checked, is very important.

The symptoms of heart problems that are most concerning are:

  • Shortness of Breath, Rapid or Shallow Breathing
  • Nausea, Vomiting or Sweating
  • Light-Headedness (Dizziness), or Fainting
  • Anxiety or Anxiousness

Or even more problematic are:

  • A Squeezing or Heave Pressure in the Chest - Doesn't Have to be Painful, May Just be Uncomfortable.
  • A Tight Band Around Your Chest - "An Elephant Sitting on Your Chest".
  • "Bad" Indigestion or Hearburn.

The latter symptoms may mean that you are having a heart attack.

In any case immediately call your doctor or 9-1-1.
